Tough 250 mile race yesterday...
Tuesday, March 31, 2020
Well it was quite a race yesterday with 398 out of 755 birds home on the day from our 250-mile station.
There were 15 birds on the drop at between 12:43:32:40 and the 15th at 12:43:44:00.
I am truly puzzled as to why only 398 birds on the day.
Yes truly puzzled given that I drove the birds to the release point, watered them I hour before the release.
As I drove back to the home loft the weather was perfect, I could not have asked for a better day, I mean it was perfect!
So what happened, the birds were ready, truly ready, in perfect health
By 12:59 there were 66 birds home. By days end as already advised there were 398 birds home by 5 PM this afternoon there were 549 birds home.
The balance hopefully here later today and tomorrow.
I will admit openly that I am a little disappointed at the returns on day one as I know their condition was tip top.
But for the life of me, I have no idea as to them and why.
As my Canadian friend Silvio never tires of telling me “…Andy that is why they call it a race …”!
My congratulations to 1st Jack Olsen Loft, 2nd A-Lo Loft /Nemelka, 3rd Che, 4th Can-Am loft, 5th, Pleasant Task Farm, 5th Baldwin, and Tillson,
7th Battleridge Loft, 8th Liqing Ni Loft, 9th Eastern Pearl Loft, 10th Baldwin and Tillson, 11th Z & R Mandigma Loft, 12th Wise Loft, 13th Nanezily Loft, 14th John Gutierrez, and 1th ADL Loft.
These 15 birds and fliers were all on the drop. Well done! And well done to all the competitors.
